Exploring Britain by Narrowboat, after forty miles of beautiful, lockfree cruising, we reach the end of the Lancaster Canal by narrowboat. We can't take narrowboat Silver Fox any further north on the Lancaster Canal.
At Tewitfield the canal is literally split in half by a bridge over the M6 motorway. Beyond lay the 'Northern Reaches', with locks, bridges and miles of waterway, although unnavigable.
