ハイパービームを身に着けたサムスで冒険が出来たらどれだけ楽しい事か。。。ふとそう思い、リドリー討伐に向かう。
※ミニスーファミのセーブステートを使用してます具体的には、部屋ごとに満足のいくプレイが出来るまで何度も試行

最初に遊び半分で通してみたら深部の巨大空洞部屋を過ぎた辺りで時間切れ。流石に厳しいと思ったが、丹念にチャートを練り直した結果何とか1秒半残しでリドリーと共倒れ。
下準備ノルフェアのギミック解除。最強装備を揃えた後、Xrayクライムでツーリアンに進入。マザーブレインを撃破後アンダーフローは無しでも可にスタート。
コロニー脱出、ゼーベス脱出、ベストエンディングの条件など、スーパーメトロイドの制限時間はやけに甘い気がしましたが、今回はかなり追い詰められた汗。RTAで培った経験が、RTA以外で役に立ったのは初めてかも。脱出BGMに始まり、脱出BGMに終わるのも、感慨深い


For no apparent reason I fantasized about fighting Ridley with Hyper Beam, so this began. During my first casual runthrough I only managed to reach amphitheater when the planet exploded, which convinced me that a Theory TAS was needed. After much preparation and stratting, Samus managed to defeat Ridley just 1.5 seconds before the end of the planet. (This is a spliced run using the savestates on the SNES Classic)

Preparation: Collect the necessary movement items. Solve all the gimmicks in Lower Norfair for faster traversal. Enter Tourian using Xrayclimb. Can optionally perform Mother Brain underflow to get super missiles.

This was the first time any "timer" in Super Metroid really posed a (significant) challenge. It is also the first time my speedrunning skill actually paid off in a nonspeedrun context (at least I deem it so). Fittingly the quest begins and ends with the escape theme. What a nice touch :)
