Description: A quick departure from Schiphol on a bright spring day with a great engine and wing view aboard a beautiful twomonthold A350900. After leaving the gate and starting up the engines, we made the short taxi up to Runway 18L (Aalsmeerbaan), lined up, and with a quiet but powerful roar from the Trent XWB engines, we were off! After takeoff, we made a slight left turn to head southeast for a minute, then a big right turn to head west towards the coast. Just before reaching the North See, we turned right again to fly northwest for our transatlantic crossing.

The videos from this flight were ALMOST perfect, except for a very strange issue with the audio. It turns out that the A350’s air vents are highly effective, so much so that having mine pointed towards the camera created some popping sounds in the audio. The noise mostly went away once the engines spooled up for takeoff, so the engine sounds are there where it counts, and visually, the videos turned out beautifully, so hopefully the artificial “wind noise” doesn’t ruin the overall experience too much.
