With a significant increase in the diagnosis of dementia among older adults in recent years, meeting the individual needs of these persons has become increasingly challenging, especially within community settings. Recognizing the personhood of individuals with dementia is crucial in providing effective care and support. Life Enrichment programs aim to support the mental, social, and psychosocial needs of persons living with dementia. In this session, we will explore the concept of personhood, review the domains of wellness, and discuss practical ways to incorporate nonpharmacological interventions into programs and services to enhance the quality of life for individuals with dementia.
