In this video, the process of dentin formation is described. The dentin formation begins at the bell stage of tooth development. When the odontoblasts are differentiated from the dental papilla cells they start secreting an organic matrix called predentin. This predentin mineralizes to form the mature dentin. Near the dentino enamel junction, this dentin is known as mantle dentin. We have also discussed in this video the formation of primary secondary and tertiary dentin. In addition, the vascular changes that occur during dentinogenesis were also described.
