In this episode we went to Diamond Harbour, which is one of the best weekend trip spots near Kolkata. Diamond Harbour by the river Ganga is a one day tour location from Kolkata. We visited Diamond Harbour to buy Hilsa fish or ilish maach from Nagendrabazar fish market. The Diamond Harbour Ilish or Hilsa fish is pretty famous throughout West Bengal. Though we planned to have lunch at Sagorika Hotel, but we ended up having lunch at Debur Hotel.
The Hilsa fish fry is the ultimate bengali delicacy. We bought 2 Hilsa fish from the Diamond Harbour fish market. The first one is 1.5 kg and price is 1650 INR per kg and the second one is 1000kg and price 1200 INR per kg. Hilsa fish is the best bengali delicacy and Hilsa is the most famous fish for Bengalis. The Diamond Harbour Ganga Ghat is the best place to sit and chat for hours.
