Every year on the Labour Day long weekend, the Diamond Valley Railway in Eltham hosts their annual 12 Hour Community Run. Operating on the Sunday from 11am to 11pm, it's the only time of the year the general public can visit the railway at night, all while raising funds for local community organisations.


In this video we see various trains around the railway throughout the day. First we see trains in the vicinity around Diamond Valley Station, before moving around to various trackside locations around the railway. Trains seen include steam locomotives Joyce, Tom Thumb and Rio Grande 482, diesel locomotives including G527, BL26, CL9, 8172, and even the electric Tait set.



Among the local community organisations helping out during the event is the Diamond Valley Brass Band, who took a ride on a train to belt out an iconic tune ;)



As the busy night running begins we then see some clips around the station, which is rather busy full of passengers and trains, with the Community Run being one of the busiest days of the year for the railway.



The Diamond Valley Railway is open to the public every Sunday from 11am 5pm, with rides costing $3.
