Performance and Comments:

Heavy for offhand work, but not overly so. Get it on a sling to make it a great hunter. Shoots hard enough to be lethal to all small game, but not so hard it becomes holdsensitive or pelletpicky. Best pellets: CPUM, CPHP, FTT, GTO, Polymag. This is probably my favorite springer. Not quite as accurate as a TX200, but just as rewarding to shoot, somehow. Cocking is a lot less awkward.

Choose this or a 52 over a Diana 56th, and put the money toward a protune. The recoilless models are notably heavier, but more consistent when shot from a rest. From a realistic field position, you wouldn't notice a difference in accuracy.

H&N FTT, 14.6 gr., 5.55 mm head
Avg. 747 fps
ES 17
SD 7
FPE 18.2
Very tight fit in breech, try smaller head size. Very accurate.

CPHP 14.3
Avg. 787
ES 14
SD 5
FPE 19.7
Interchangeable with CPUM. Snug fit, cheap, accurate, full of win.

JSB 14.35
Avg. 775

FPE 19.1
The weight is right, but they just don't shoot very well.

H&N Sniper Light, 14
Avg. 744
ES 28

FPE 17.2
Not good accuracy, down on power.

Air Arms 16 gr.
Avg. 681
ES 14

FPE 16.5
Meh.

H&N Silver Bear
Avg. 815
ES 19
SD 7
FPE 18.7
A bit too light, I think.

Predator Polymag 16 gr.
Avg. 728
ES 13
SD 4
FPE 18.8
Accurate, perfect fit. An excellent choice for lung shot pesting out to 25 yards. (though not as accurate as the frontrunner domes)

Predator GTO
Avg. 894
ES 19
SD 7
FPE 20.8
Very accurate, great fit. Velocity and flat trajectory of a .177, but with the frontal area of a .22. Watch for ricochets though, as these are HARD and don't deform at all.

H&N Excite Hammer
Avg. 776
ES 14
SD 5
Not that consistent. Better off with CPUMs or CPHP in a budget pellet.
