In midAugust, Caltrain softlaunched its new electric service along the commuter rail line that connects San Francisco and San Jose. As part of the transition over to full electric service by late September, Caltrain began gradually introducing their Stadler KISS EMUs in regular service, replacing some legacy dieselelectric trains.
Over a couple days, I went out with my camera rig to get some goodold railfanning action. The main objective was to get some nice footage of the soontobe retired diesel fleet, and the occasional EMU action along the rail line.
