We attempt to do diesel performance modifications on our 411cc diesel go kart, but everything we look at on the engine has some kind of factory defect! We have: a gap in the intake where the engine can suck dirty air in, an oil leak, an exhaust leak, the whole setup with the torque conveter weighs 130 pounds, and all kinds of red flags with the flywheel. The casting on the flywheel is very poor, after just an hour of run time, we have a broken fin on the flywheel, and we noticed air pockets in the casting, meaning that this diesel engine's flywheel could break apart at high or moderate RPM. We still have fun doing go kart wheelies and doughnuts!
