The Dirt Devil is powered by a 7 amp motor. The power cord is 25 ft long. The Dirt Devil weighs about 9 pounds making it easy to lift with one hand and also for vacuuming steps. One thing that might bother some people is the high noise level of the unit. I recommend this Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus because it really sucks!
