A really cracking chunk of another freetoair spell of the Disney Channel, this time the Wonderful World of Disney Weekend day two in (I think) November 2000. Emma Lee and the injured Nigel Mitchell present, and they seriously do pack so much of what makes this genre of retro TV great into a relatively short space of time.

These clips come out of a showing of Sleeping Beauty, and I'm afraid I've had to edit out episodes of Mouse Works and the 101 Dalmatians series, but there's more than enough left that keeps the energy surprisingly high. There's a package with Emma heading off to Milan to meet young Nicolo, phoneins, letters, competitions, promos (though admittedly those get a bit samey)... It's a cross between a magazine programme, a Saturday morning show, and basically everything that this sort of live television should be.

Look out for the "What Comes Next, the Chicken or the Egg?" game with an N64 signed by Westlife as the first prize (contestants Daniel and Pauline's big moments); the Wish Upon a Star feelgood segment; mention of a "Golf Club 7" competition with Michael Owen goodies on offer, which isn't to mention the full PC gaming rig elsewhere; a phonein where viewers talk about their creative inventions; and loads, loads more until the tape runs out. I'm sure they pulled out all the stops especially for this promotional weekend, but I can honestly say I was taken aback by how fun a piece of live TV this is. Superb stuff.
