Distributed loading on a beam example #3: parabolic loads

Follow
Engineer4Free

This engineering statics tutorial goes over a distributed load on a beam example with a parabolic load. We need to first find the location of the centroid, and the total magnitude of the distributed load, before we can solve for the reaction forces and moment at the support. Some integration is required for this one.
