On my DIY mountain bike build the 1000w BLDC Motor Phase Wires were getting hot with the 72v 60 amp controller. Because I want to install a better, smoother and slightly more powerful Sabvoton 72v 80 amp controller, I need to upgrade the original 18GA Phase Wires with heavier 14GA wires that can handle almost twice the current.
This motor mod is working great and the phase wires are now getting only slightly warm and not getting hot! Yahoo baby!
The planned 80 amp controller is giving me a hassle so I decided to install my 72v 200 amp controller. This is a super powerful controller I bought for another project and certainly too much power for this very light mountain bike. Watch and see!
