My journey to build an analog tape echo using inexpensive Walkmans sourced from Amazon. It's noisy, has lots of tape hiss. It's lofi, it warbles massively and sometimes the feedback loop is uncontrollable.... but it's different, much different than any delay pedal. I would say as a guitar pedal it's not that useful but as a performance tool it works really well to create textures and noise.
