Some of the more popular lawn striping kits on the market currently can be pretty costly ($150$200). I decided to make an attempt at building my own, and I did it for around $50. For a first version, I was pretty happy with the results, but there is room for improvement for sure.
Parts list:
(1) 3” PVC pipe the width of the wheel base of your mower
(2) 3” PVC caps
(1) 1/2” steel pipe with threaded ends (needs to be longer than PVC pipe)
(2) 1/2 threaded steel caps
(2) 3 1/2” x 5” eyebolts with nuts
(2) 8” zinc plated corner brace
