I love the way my DIY sofa table turned out for my formal living room! This console table was fairly easy to make as it has no mitered edges (buttjoints only) and the table top is a basic box construction! I love that you can customize the stain color and size versus buying a sofa table from a retailer. I customized the table to fit flush with the height of my lowprofile sofa so I can always move it behind the sofa as an option in the future. If you want to make your sofa table exactly like mine, check out all of my wood cuts below. For size reference, my sofa is 30" tall and 80" long, and my sofa table is also 30" tall but I wanted it not quite as long as my sofa, at 67.5" long, which is the length of my sofa minus the the arms.

Table Top:
(2) 1x10x8 Common Boards (top and bottom boards) cut to 67.5"
(2) 1x6x8 Common Boards (side boards) cut to 67.5"

End Pieces/"Corks":
Take the remnants of your 1x10x8 Common Boards and cut the length to fit in the gap. Measure this AFTER your box is assembled to see the length you need to cut it to.

Frame Legs:
(2) 1x4x8 Common Boards cut to:
(4) 8" for horizontal leg pieces
(4) 24 1/2" (24.5") for vertical leg pieces

KEEP IN MIND that the "common" dimensions for wood are not the same as the actual dimensions... for example, a 1"x6" is actually a 3/4"x 5.5".

My Stain Recipe:
I love this mix because it coordinates with my flooring so well!

Step 1: Apply Varathane Wood Conditioner (https://rstyle.me/+0V8_uuwr89Fl4bSGNU...) generously, let dry.
Step 2: Apply Varathane Classic Gray Stain (https://rstyle.me/+9Ql412kb2AaHh4do0n..., let dry.
Step 3: Apply Varathane Briarsmoke Stain (https://rstyle.me/+ngDY9sVyebX_wGkrr8..., let dry.

Note: We cut ours at home, but you can have Home Depot or Lowes cut your wood for you at the store you just need to know EXACTLY the length you need your wood cut to beforehand. Home Depot and Lowes will not miter your table legs for you, though. You can always assemble them using buttjoints if you don't have access to a miter saw.
