Build your own rock strainer to remove rocks from finer soil. Easy for any home welder, fits in the back of a pickup, lots of options. If you need fines or gravel, this can really help. I used 1/8" 2"x2" steel angle, 1/2" expanded steel, 1/2" construction plywood, noflat wheelbarrow wheels, and 5/8" rod for the axles. My next move will be to weld some 1/4" bar stock onto it, with 2" spacing. With that I'll get two inch minus gravel into the fines, which will be perfect for earthbag and will be more durable than the expanded steel. I can take that product and rerun it through the expanded steel and separate out the gravel from fines. So with that arrangement I can get (a) riprap (b) two inch minus gravel and (c) fines.
