Using a large plastic jar from my recycling bin, I am thrilled to show you how I upcycled this trash into treasure with some decoupaging and artificial aging techniques by using a light grit sanding block, crackling varnish and antiquing medium. I took some very budget friendly Dollar Tree items, including black Halloween lace and diamond braided rope to embellish this DIY project for final touches.
The Halloween "decoupage" paper that I ordered was thicker than expected and usually prefer, but I was able to make these beautiful vibrant vintage inspired images work. The end result is a vintage, but festive looking autumn season lantern (for LED candle only) or antique Trick or Treat candy jar.
