Checking your blood pressure at home can be difficult. First, you have to choose the right machine, and then there is a long list of things you have to do to get an accurate reading. In this video, we explore how to take a blood pressure reading at home accurately and easily!

1) Things not to do before checking your blood pressure:
No smoking
No Caffeine
No eating
No exercise
No watching Manchester United lose another football match (optional)

2) Sitting position is key for blood pressure. Sit upright on a chair and arm slightly bent
resting on a table. Feet flat on the ground.

3) Place the cuff on your arm using the 'Rule of two fingers' two fingers above elbow, and tight enough to slip two fingers between the cuff and your upper arm.

4) Press the On button then start and await as the machine inflates and deflates.

5) Write your blood pressure down, take 3 readings and work out the average.
