Stipend received by Doctors are purely an exempt Income. There are very few medical colleges in India who have gone on right path by not deducting any TDS on Stipends paid to Medical student, wherein other medical college are not only deducting TDS on such stipends as Salary or as Professional Consultant, they are even not taking any pain to get into depth of Taxability of Stipend. I must say the leaders of association shall come forward and raise this at pan India level and make all the colleges to come at one platform.
