In this video, I talked about how to upskill yourself without an MBA/Master’s or how to upskill yourself while working. A lot of the comments I get on my channel are regarding upskilling for change. People want to know how they should upskill to move from one domain to another. Upskilling and reskilling is essential to survive in the modern corporate environment which is highly competitive and doesn’t demand that you know how to learn new skills fast.

If you want to know how to learn new skills faster then this video can be very helpful. The framework for upskilling and reskilling that I shared in this video should help you upskill in AI, or upskill in finance, or upskill in technology, as per your needs and ambitions. There are a few things you need to avoid. The first on the list is going after a skill just for the glamour, hype, or money. You should seek to upskill within indemand skills or most indemand skills but that should not be the only reason why you pick up a skill to learn in the first place.

You shouldn’t choose a skill just because your friends are also doing it. You should always try to use your advantage in a particular field. For example, if you have experience with Data Science then always choose Data Science plus consulting instead of just going for consulting. If the domain in which you are is not growing then focus on the industry. You should focus on the industry. If one domain is not growing, it doesn’t mean that the whole industry will struggle to grow.

You should choose a skill that is adjacent to your field of expertise. If you are still unable to choose a skill then go to LI and see what are the people with that specific skillset that you want to learn doing. This will give you a good roadmap on how to pursue that skill and what you can realistically expect to achieve in the future. Don’t ignore LinkedIn.

On top of that you should also keep in mind that finding the right skill is not the most difficult part. The most difficult part is to stay motivated. You need to celebrate the small wins to stay motivated on your journey. I have also shared how you can upskill in AI.

Start with learning a programming language and once you are done with that, you can focus on learning statistics. This should help you out.
