Writing a family history book is often the first and most obvious thing many people think of when it comes to collating, compiling their family history research. However, it's also one of the most difficult things to do, as well.

For this reason, many family history books that start off strong never get finished, leaving others with only a fragment of what might have been. This is understandable since the work involved in writing these books is serious and can be draining.
