Door Opens on Takeoff, Forced to make an immediate return.

As a planespotter, I think the moments that get to me the most are moments when you record something and don't realize the significance of the event until playback.
For me, this was going to be a straightforward Convair recording to add to my vintage archives. From my view, it was a standard takeoff. Then I noticed the plane quickly came back around to land. Being quite confused for a few seconds, It was only after playing back the video that I realized that the door flew open in flight.
The door opened around the point of gear retraction ( If you look hard, you can see it), But from the beginning of the video, you could already see that the door wasn't locked.
The Convair made a safe landing, returned to the stand, properly closed the door and was off again a few minutes later.

Some of you might be confused about the door itself. Most planes have their doors hinged from either the bottom or the side. Convairs are some of the few aircraft types that have the door hinged from the top with airstairs extended underneath.
