With one of the early hour southbound services ex Dunedin being cancelled due to decreased tonnages over the winter months, the freight is now consolidated and attached to one of the later running southbound train services.

I managed to capture this train heading through Gore, entering Edendale, and then again passing through Kamahi.

Normally this train is considerably shorter after dropping tonnage at Edendale, but it was great to see a number of wagons south of Edendale, that provided a suitable load for the two DX locomotives as it tackled the Kamahi Bank.
