We're drilling for gems and ore. The deeper you go the better the quality of stuff you find. So naturally we head straight down for all the best stuff. We gather the most valuable stuff we can find along the way, bring it back to the surface for profit, and then upgrade our drill so we can go even deeper and gather more stuff. It doesn't take too long before we're finding pockets of diamonds and even more valuable gems for some massive profit, although things get much more dangerous when you're so deep...
