SaintTropez is a commune in the Var department and the region of ProvenceAlpesCôte d'Azur, Southern France. It is 68 kilometers west of Nice and 100 kilometers east of Marseille, on the French Riviera, of which it is one of the bestknown towns. In 2018, SaintTropez had a population of 4,103. The adjacent narrow body of water is the Gulf of SaintTropez, stretching to SainteMaxime to the north under the Massif des Maures.

The French Riviera, or Côte d'Azur in French, is the Mediterranean coast of southeastern France. It includes famously glamorous beach resorts such as SaintTropez and Cannes, and the independent microstate of Monaco. A health retreat in the 18th century, the area later attracted aristocrats, artists and the 1960's 'Jet Set'. Today it’s an established holiday destination, with paths connecting many coastal villages and towns.
