On February 15, 2022, an officer, accompanied by a dispatcher as a passenger, responded to a call in Middleton, WI. While driving through an intersection, he noticed a vehicle speeding toward him in the wrong direction. With no escape route due to surrounding traffic, the wrong way driver collided directly headon with the officer. After speaking with the driver, it became evident that he was not sober.
