Dualtron hook throttle delete for external throttle

Follow
EV Components Review (De-bodgery)

In this video I present how to remove your hook throttle on any Dualtron throttle and replace it with any external hall based throttle.

I was asked about the JST 1.0 connectors I used. Here's some options that all have the 1mm leg spacing:

1. Here's a broader ready made kit with wires already crimped that all you have to do is push them into the plastic connector. This is just the female connector and not the male connector that you solder into the board.

2. This kit has the male and female connectors. Unfortunately the male connector is 90 degrees and you'll need to bend them so the connector can face straight up from the board. It has everything you need in it and no crimping required.

3. Like number 2, just different source. Ready made JSTSH 3 pin kit with precrimped wires.

4. Here is the crimper I use and IMHO it's the only one worth getting. There are clones and other crimper styles. Just take it as written, get a legit Iwiss 3220 and be glad I told you to get it! The others are not worth having and tend to mangle the crimped pins. This one crimper will handle most pin types and sizes you are likely to ever see in EV and small electronics use.

5. JST 1.0 3 pin kit for doing it all yourself. You will need the IWiss 3220 crimper. JST 1.0 pins are super tiny and easy to mangle or over crimp! This is my choice since I crimp lots of cables for various applications and have JST 1.0 in 2 pin to 14 pin connectors
