In this video Heimler walks you through Unit 3 Topic 9 of the AP Government curriculum which is all about the Constitution's provision for the right to privacy. If you're scratching your head because you don't remember a right to privacy included in the Bill of Rights, you're not wrong.

However, through a series of cases, the Supreme Court established the right to privacy as an implicit right, a shadow of the explicit rights enumerated in the first ten amendments.

The most controversial application of this right to privacy was in the landmark case Roe v. Wade which relied on this precedent to rule on a woman's right to abortion.
