Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
Training Requirements
To be qualified to work as a certified early childhood educator (ECE) in B.C., you are required to complete a basic early childhood education training program from an approved training institution.
Getting a Certificate
Firsttime application: Graduates from an approved training program can work as an early childhood educator or assistant once they receive certification from the provincial government.
Infant/toddler and special needs educators must first be certified as a basic early childhood educator. After completing a postbasic ECE training program for one of these specialties, they can receive a certificate for both their basic and postbasic training.

NOC 4411 Home Childcare Provider
NOC 4412 Home Support Workers
• Runs for 5 Years (starting Jun 2019)
• To provide PR to qualified Caregiver and their family members
1. Education Requirements
• Degree or diploma, post secondary education or higher
• Obtain ECA (Education Credential Assessment ) WES
2. Language Proficiency test
• IELTS (General)
Reading 4, Writing 5, Listing 5, Speaking 5, (CLB level 5)
3. Work Experience
• Work Experience outside of Canada 6 months or related training.
• Inside Canada two years after arriving in Canada.
4. Job Offer
• Genuine Job Offer for at least 30 hours/week
• ONLY in NOC code 4411 or 4412
• Job offer form IMM5983
