Hey y’all, it’s Chip Jones, and welcome back to The Preppy Gardener! In this video, we’re diving into early fall gardening prep here at Okarga Farms. After a long, hot summer, I’m ready to bring in some fall color, do a bit of garden maintenance, and get everything ready for the cooler months ahead.

I’ll be trimming back some of my favorite plants, like hollyhocks, and adding pops of seasonal color with pumpkins, mums, and pansies. You’ll see how I mix these into the garden and all around the landscape to create a welcoming, festive fall look.

I’ll also give you a sneak peek at the work I’ve been doing on my potting shed. We had a bit of an adventure with the flooring, but with some creativity (and help from a friend), we got it leveled without breaking the bank. There’s a lot more to come with that renovation, so stay tuned.
