In this Video, you will come to know how to draw / develop Focal Mechanism Beach balls of an earthquake using ArcMAP. Created beach balls are in the form of polygon features.
Steps to follow:
1.Collect earthquakes point feature data (catalog file) which includes attribute information like strike, dip, rake, magnitude and depth, all the fields are in numerical values in excel form.
2. Save file as .csv file.
3. Add data (.csv file) in ArcMAP and export as shape file.
4. Add tool to arctool box.
5. Open the tool, assign respective field and run.
6. Beach balls are created for all the point features.
7. Same data can be opened in ArcScene.
8. Depth values can be assigned to see in the form of depth levels.
