I love working on composition but, I like to come to it from a place of less control. The surprises and unexpected elements that arrive when you let go of trying to make everything perfect are so much more satisfying to me than painting "the perfect picture". It's a storage issue that turned out to be an exercise in letting go of controlling composition and gave me some really good results. I hope you'll give it a try because you can do this with any size piece of paper. I demonstrate on a 9" X 12" and then on a 3' X 4' and it's the exact same steps.
