Easy Shower Bombs DIY! Best Shower Bomb Recipe!

A shower bomb is like a bath bomb with extra perks. Use it as a bath bomb, shower steamer, or to bathe with (just like soap). They have less citric acid, more skinloving ingredients, & are softer than normal bath bombs.

RECIPE: 1 cup baking soda, 1/8 cup citric acid, 1/4 cup milk powder (I used coconut), 1/4 cup colloidal oatmeal, 1/4 cup clay (I used calamine for a natural pink color), 1/8 cup Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa). + 24 grams melted butter (I used cocoa butter), 12 milliliters fragrance, 12 milliliters polysorbate 80. This recipe has 3/4 cup of beneficial ingredients; use any skinloving ingredients you want. You could use all clay if you wanted! The SLSa creates foam & lather & cleans skin well [or use sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, or sodium coco sulfate instead]. Only using butter, oil, & polysorbate 80 is going to create a soft bomb which is what you want. You may change ingredients & amounts as you see fit but it may impact the final shower bomb. *** Do NOT add more citric acid. Doing so may burn or irritate your skin if you bathe with the shower bomb.
Mix dry & wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients to dry then stir. ***A spoon works best. Thoroughly mix & knead the batch with your hands. The mixture should hold together when squeezed. And it will feel soft, very wet, & dense.

MOLDING: I recommend a flat mold. It's easy to hold, rub on skin, & break chunks off. Plus, the bomb kept getting stuck in my round metal molds. I coated the mold with cotton candy eco glitter (linked below I LOVE this stuff) to give the [diamond] bombs a sparkling exterior. Fill the mold & pack it. Sprinkle loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh the 2 sides together tightly. Do very small, short twists to grind the molds closer together & push out extra mix. Don't do hard turn twists. Think of it as slowly vibrating the molds closer together through very small, short, quick semitwists. Tap both sides to release the bomb. Sprinkle mica on wet bombs for additional sparkle. This recipe makes 3 diamond shower bombs. Dry them for 2448 hours, then package. I shrink wrapped them. Bombs should last up to a year but are best when used fresh!
