Hello my name is Kimberly Hylton and today I am going to show you my DIY Watercolor Tripod Easel setup for plein air painting/ outdoor painting / urban sketching. I made this kit myself with an old tripod, foam core board and velcro. The tripod tray was made from an old 11x14 stretched canvas panel frame that I removed the cloth from with pliers and a flat head screwdriver. I cut out a section of the frame so it could fit over the tripod bars. Then glued and stapled a piece of foam core board to the frame. Both sides were painted with gray acrylic paint then a clear varnish was applied. I hope you enjoy this video and I hope it inspires you to make your own field easel so you can go out painting!
