Elden Ring- Banished Warmaster | Banished Knight's Greatsword Build (NG+7)

Background: The Hollowslayer Greatsword. What a marvellous weapon. Fortunately for us, it lives on in its Elden Ring cousin, the Banished Knight's Greatsword, a weapon that is both mighty and elegant. This build is an ode to the Banished Knights of Elden Ring.

For this build: This is a Strength/Faith build that utilizes the Banished Knight's Greatsword set to the Heavy affinity in both its twohanded sweeping moveset and a powerstanced Greatsword moveset along with charged heavy attacks and projectilebased weapon skills like Vacuum Slice and Storm Blade to inflict powerful amounts of raw and stance damage to overwhelm bosses. To break down the aspects of this, I'll address each part at a time. First, the Banished Knight's Greatsword has a special light attack chain shared with the Knight's Greatsword and Inseparable Sword which swings in a flowing, diagonal slash. It does feel very satisfying though I will admit in tight windows, I wish it were a bit faster. The powerstanced Greatsword moveset feels a bit faster, hits a bit harder and has excellent jump attacks, though it does consume more stamina. The charged heavy attacks from the Banished Knight's Greatsword (or any greatsword class weapon), will deal an adequate amount of raw damage and stance damage. And lastly, apart from movesets, this build utilizes two projectilebased weapon skills: Vaccuum Slice and Storm Blade. Vacuum Slice releases a single, heavy wind projectile similar to the Blasphemous Blade's Taker's Flames and Ruins Greatsword's Wave of Destruction though it does only physical damage and seems to have less range than both. It does have decent stagger and does more damage in one hit than Storm Blade does. Storm Blade, on the other hand, does slightly weaker stagger, and does less damage in a single projectile, but can be spammed and is much faster, making it the more powerful of the two projectiles. So, the truth is, while this build isn't "broken", it is still reasonably strong, versatile and generally a lot of fun to play around with, which after my Maidenless Runt Build (Occult Scavenger's Curved Sword Build), a strong, more "honest" build was the exact thing I needed. PS: I buffed with Golden Vow and Howl of Shabriri for those who couldn't tell.

How to improve this build: So, how to improve this build really depends on what you want out of it. I'll go down a few different options listed below.

You like the Banished Knight's Greatsword's moveset: This build is already nearly as strong as the Banished Knight's Greatsword can be, at least with Heavy affinity. Some numbers:
73 Strength Heavy Banished Knight's Greatsword: 681 onehanded/738 twohanded.

80 Strength Heavy Banished Knight's Greatsword: 703 onehanded/751 twohanded

If you wanted even more power, you could go 80 Strength and 80 Dexterity and the Quality affinity,

80 Strength/80 Dexterity Quality Banished Knight's Greatsword: 799 onehanded/832 twohanded.

You just want higher attack rating, but like the Greatsword class of weapons and the weapon skills: The Gargoyle's Greatsword would have a higher attack rating (if strictly pure Strength) and is infusible meaning you could still use Storm Blade and Vaccum Slice. You would lose the Banished Knight's movest though. Some numbers:

73 Strength Heavy Gargoyle's Greatsword: 696 onehanded/762 twohanded

80 Strength Heavy Gargoyle's Greatsword: 722 onehanded/777 twohanded

The Gargoyle's Greatsword is NOT stronger than the Banished Knight's Greatsword with maxing out damage stats

80 Strength/80 Dexterity Quality Gargoyle's Greatsword: 779 onehanded/812 twohanded.

*all numbers are before buffs such as Ritual Sword, Golden Vow or Howl of Shabriri.
