One day my Trolling motor didn't come on. When I opened it too see what the problem was... I broke it worse. I broke the magnets. That's probably the dumbest thing you could do to an electric motor like this. Especially since the problem was actually just that one of the brush springs had rusted through. Never mind, I'll just glue them back together. I wonder if it will work?

This was a very big problem for the motor, yet I was able to repair it using just some glue, a spring I found, a can of etch primer and a tube of instant gasket. Previously, I had ran it without any problems for 6 months, even though I got it second hand for only $150 NZD. And it certainly wasn't new! I think that goes to show just how reliable electric motors can be.
