September 21st, 1989: a tragic event that will forever change the lives of all those involved. The Alton Bus Crash took the lives of 21 young students who were on their way to school that Thursday morning.
A week after the incident, Mission High School held a football game. During that game, 21 balloons were released in honor of each victim at different times. All 21 balloons gathered together and stayed for a short time in the middle of the field, until the balloons flew off to the sky.
With that in mind I wrote this piece for them.
