Elizabeth Woodville was Henry VIII's grandmother. She was the mother to Elizabeth of York, Henry VII's wife and King Henry VIII's mother. Also known as the White Queen and a real beauty, she was known for orchestrating the marriage of her daughter Elizbeth of York to Henry VII, who had the Lancastrian claim to the throne. This put her daughter and soninlaw onto the English throne, ending the War of the Roses and starting the Tudor Dynasty.
