Names are significant. Names have meaning, they have a purpose, they are essential and there is substance behind names.

God shows up in big events and in the drama of life and throughout the Bible revealed a specific name so that we can know something about his power, character, and strength and can look to Him in a meaningful way … in whatever it is we are facing.

Throughout God’s Word, He helps us grasp and understand His multidimensional traits through various names that underscore dimensions of His character, His power, His greatness and how He shows up in life’s challenges and activities.

The only reason we have idols in our life is we don’t know God’s names. The reason why addictions are so prevalent is we don’t know God’s names. The reason why confusion, frustration, and lack of joy persists is we don’t know God’s names.

So, as we navigate through 9 different names, our goal is to learn, know, apply, appreciate, embrace, lift up and worship God through calling upon the various names He reveals to us.

We open this series of messages with the first name God uses for Himself… Elohim.
