"Elsässisch Fàhnelied" is the former unofficial hymn of the Reichsland ElsaßLothringen. It was written in 1911 by Emile Woerth, but was never adopted because of the refusal of the German government. This song refers to the "Rot un Wiss" flag (red and white) which was never officially adopted, despite repeated attempts by the deputies of the Landtag of AlsaceLorraine. During Great War, the use of the anthem and flag was tolerated but fought by the German military authorities.
