Starting on Sunday, August 1, Emerald Isle Beach Driving Permit Applications for the 202122 season will be available online at emeraldislenc.org/beachdriving. The beach driving season officially begins on Wednesday, September 15 and runs through April. As always, beach driving will be closed for a tenday period around Easter.

Please note, permit applications will be online only for the month of August. Beginning in September, permit applications can be found either online or at the Emerald Isle Police Department at 7500 Emerald Drive.

All applicants must watch this educational video and then take the quiz listed on the website. You must receive at least an 80 percent on the quiz in order to apply for your permit.
