Hugo Matthews Jnr. Has twenty years of experience in the construction industry. He holds an Associates's degree in Architectural Science in 1999 and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Architecture in 2001, from the Caribbean School of Architecture at the University of Technology, Jamaica. He worked at one of the largest civil engineering and construction companies in the world at Bouygues Travaux Publics, in the engineering design department. He participated in the drawing and project management of highway 2000, and played major roles in the design and construction of the Portmore toll plaza. After a number of years at Bouygues, he went on to attain the Masters of Architecture degree in 2009, where he achieved the best academic performance in his endeavors.

He earned his qualification as a Registered Architect in Jamaica in the year 2014, when he started Virtuoso Architect with his classmate Mr. Euhon Darling, who is also a graduate of the Caribbean School of Architecture. Since then Virtuoso Architect Limited has executed projects such as 20 South Residential Development, Parkhurst One Residential
Development, Fontana Pharmacy Waterloo, Bolt Tower in Half Way Tree, Bert’s on Molynes Road, Wellington Residential Development, Spyglass Residential development, Montego Bay BPO, 8 Phoenix Avenue Commercial Development, Drax Hall and Buckfield Commercial Developments in St. Ann, and many others.

Hugo is very astute in his knowledge and application of architecture, amplified by his sharp eye for details. His competence extends to areas of contract administration and project management, roles in which he excelled, resulting in a vast number of wellexecuted residential and commercial projects. In his management of teams of designers, construction crews, and fellow professionals, he always gains their respect while never forgetting to reciprocate. Leadership positions are not unfamiliar, as he reprised such status in whatever area of influence he traverses. As a former president of the Rotary Club of Trafalgar New Heights, he remains focused, motivated, and passionate about the pursuit of knowledge.
