"La marche du bataillon de choc" ("Adieu du bataillon de choc" ou "En pointe toujours") was written in 1943 in Barrettali, Corsica, just after the liberation of the island, on a melody coming from a woman named Mrs Altieri. It illustrates the new state of mind of French fighters. The battalion (1st BPC) wanted to be the French equivalent of the British SAS but mainly participated in frontal combat. He participated in the liberation of France (notably Corsica and Toulon, etc.) but also in the Indochina War and the Algerian War.

"La marche du bataillon de choc" ("Adieu du bataillon de choc" ou "En pointe toujours") a été écrite en 1943 à Barrettali en Corse, juste après la libération de l'île, sur une musique qui serait due à une certaine Mme Altieri. Elle illustre bien le nouvel état d'esprit des combattants français. Le bataillon (1er BPC) se voulait être l'équivalent français des SAS britanniques mais participa majoritairement à des combats frontaux. Il participera à la libération de la France (notamment Corse et Toulon, etc) mais aussi à la guerre d'Indochine et à la guerre d'Algérie.
