Ender 3 - Getting 300°C + Print Temperatures for Polycarbonate and Nylon Printing

Why you should not buy knockoffs:    • Open Source in 3D Printing  Copycats...

Polycarbonate and Nylon are amazing plastics giving superior strength along with superior fatigue and temperature resistance. But most printers are not able to print with these materials. The Ender 3 suffers from this problem because of the Thermistor and PTFE tube in the stock hotend which limit the temperature to 260°C. In this video, we're going to fix that, and start printing Polycarbonate at 310°C!

PURCHASE LINKS (Note, purchasing from these links does not help the channel):

Micro Swiss Hotend with Titanium Heat Break: https://store.microswiss.com/collect...

Duet Thermocouple Daughterboard:
USA Purchase: https://www.filastruder.com/products/...
UK Purchase: https://www.duet3d.com/DuetAddons/TC_...
NOTE: At $30 this board seems expensive relative to the $2.50 board I was showing available on Ebay. There is an important distinction. The low cost board uses a MAX6675 chip, while the Duet Board uses 2 of the much better MAX31856 chips (Yes, you can operate two hotends with this daughterboard). Just a single chip MAX31856 board on Ebay costs $16, so in actuality $30 is a reasonable price. As with the genuine Duet Control Board, you are paying for top of the line components in a package that is guaranteed to work well for an extended period of time.

Disclaimer: I was given the MicroSwiss hotend and the Duet Thermocouple Daughterboard for the purposes of making this video. I received no payment from either company. I form my own opinions, and, to the best of my abilities, I am unbiased in my reviews.
