ENGLAND UNDER ATTACK DOODLEBUGS 1944

The German V1 Doodlebug missile attack at Clapham in South London on 13th June 1944 was the first day flying bombs hit London. A week before on DDay June 6th Allied Armies had invaded Germanoccupied France. Over 9,500 Doodlebug Missiles were launched at London and South East England, estimated lives lost 6,000 between June 1944 and March 1945.
The journey in this film begins from RAF Bolt Head in South Devon during June 1944 with 41 Squadron.
41 Squadron were flying the Griffon engined Spitfire MK XII, they were called to transfer up to RAF West Malling in Kent and there fly missions against the Doodlebug missile threat.
The film also details the Hawker Typhoon and the Gloster Meteor attacking the Doodle Bug Missiles.
