In order to reduce noises, it is necessary to improve the airplane's aerodynamic profile and develop quieter engines. Already, the airplanes' acoustic footprint on the ground has been reduced by 75% overall in the past four decades. At Safran, we are going even further: the last generation LEAP engine is 12 decibels quieter than its predecessor, the CFM56 engine. Working on optimized shape of rotors, soundabsorbing materials and the next Open Rotor architecture, Safran is fully dedicated to help the industry achieve its objective about noise reduction.
