Episode 4: I'd like a few ribs please

As part of scratch building my giant scale Ryan's Rebel I find the best way to cut out 24 ribs (the kit requires 22) is the exact way I mentioned in my last video, and the way I never do it. Hmmm. Anyway, its worked pretty slick because the ribs in this airplane are constant chord, and non tapered from the center to the tips. I show you how to make quick work of cutting out a lot of individual parts.

If you wanna build this airplane, You can find the plans here. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt... Scroll down to post #517

There are three .pdf files to download, one is the original set of plans but they are heavily over scanned and hard to read. The second is a well done CADed version, all lines are crisp and all writing is readable. I took this set to Staples and they were able to print perfectly. The scale is set to an 80 inch wingspan…

The last pdf is the article from RCM magazine and includes that bonus materials list.

Let’s get building!!!

If you have questions about scratch building from plans, post them in the comment section below and I will do my very best to answer them.
