The Yahara River

We were very excited to get out onto the Yahara River, near Madison, with Matty B. Matt has fished here, and done well for largemouth bass in the past, and he’s always been wanting to bring us here to experience it. Unfortunately when we get fishing, we find that the river levels are down around 23 feet, making most of the river about a foot deep. With that shallow of water, getting around was not easy, and we spent way more time traveling than we did fishing.

Our pattern for these bass suits everyone in the boat, some cast in right up to skinny water near shore, and others can cast out, and work the shoreline break about 1020 feet off of shore.
